Mountain Guide Trek has been organizing a Bhutan tour 5 nights / 6 days program an adventurous journey that covers most of the best parts of Bhutan and it will be your good memorable trip covering the two major cities of Bhutan-Paro and Thimpu. Paro has the only airport in Bhutan and has a few famous Dzongs. You will have the opportunity to visit some farm houses and interact with the locals and experience rural life.

Day 01: Kathmandu to Paro to Thimpu.

Day 02: Paro Sightseeing.

Day 03: Paro to Thimpu.

Day 04: Thimpu Wangdiphodrang.

Day 05: Wangdiphodrang to Punakha to Paro.

Day 06: Paro to Kathmandu.

Bhutan Tour 5 Nights / 6 Days - Detail Itinerary

Day 01: Kathmandu to Paro to Thimpu.
After arriving at Paro airport, Get a Bhutan visa on your passport upon showing the visa approval letter plus a 2 pp size picture. Meet/greet our guide and drive to Hotel. (Overnight at 4-star hotel on full board basis)

Day 02: Paro Sightseeing.
Paro Sightseeing - visit the ruined fortress of Drugyel Dzong which still attracts visitors due to the strategic location of the fort  Drive back and hike to the viewpoint of Taktsang monastery. The hike which is all the way uphill takes about 2 /3 hours through villages and pine forests. The monastery clings to a huge granite cliff 800 meters from the Paro valley. Afternoon proceeds through the beautiful valley to the watch tower or locally known as Ta-Dzong. It was housed in the National Museum in the 1960s by the third King Jigme Dorji Wangchuck. The seven floors museum highlights various aspects of Bhutanese culture and history dating back to the 7th century. Short walk downhill to the Rinpung Dzong which serves as the administrative center and school for monks, and walks further down crossing the traditional bridge into Paro Town. Stroll around the market and visit a souvenir shop where one can get a rare and old collection of Bhutan stamps. Bhutan is famous for its stamps. (Overnight at 4-star hotel on full board basis)

Day 03: Paro to Thimpu.
Drive to Thimpu (1 & 1/2hrs).  Upon arrival check into Hotel Druk or River view or similar, PM sightseeing - Visit the Memorial Chorten built in the memory of the late King Jigme Dorji Wangchuck, 15-century Changangkha monastery, Motithang mini zoo to see the rare "Takin" national animal of Bhutan and drive further down with a good view of the Thimphu valley. Visit the new Drupthob nunnery temple and have free time in the market. (Overnight at 4-star hotel on full board basis)

Day 04: Thimpu Wangdiphodrang.
AM visited the Painting school, National library, Royal goldsmith workshop, and Handicraft centers. PM drive 3 hours to Wangduephodrang crossing the Dochula pass 3100 meters, on fine weather you will see the eastern Himalayan ranges including the highest mountain in Bhutan Mt.Gangar Punsum 7520 meters. The drive from the pass is all the way downhill dropping to the lower and warmer valleys of Lobesa. Visit the Wangduephodrang Dzong from the outside and the market area. (Overnight at 4-star hotel on full board basis)

Day 05: Wangdiphodrang to Punakha to Paro.
AM, drive 45 minutes to Punakha and visit the Punakha Dzong which served as the old capital of Bhutan, this remarkable fortress is built between two rivers and has survived many glacial floods and fire. Every year during February a procession known as the Punakha Serda takes place to commemorate the victory over the Tibetans. Drive 3 hours to Thimpu for lunch and proceed 2 hours to Paro via visiting the oldest building in Bhutan, the Simtokha Dzong. It now serves as a Buddhist university. (Overnight at 4-star hotel on full board basis)

Day 06: Transfer to airport for departure.
On the final day, you will have a departure from Paro to your destination area (You could go back to Nepal or any other country). The hotel staff will drop you at the Paro airport by privet Car / Van / Hiace.

Equipment

Temperatures in Bhutan vary according to weather, altitude & time of the day. Carry all types of clothes. Except if you're traveling to Bhutan during the summers, it's advisable to carry warm clothes. Some of the items that you may consider carrying include clothes as per season, sunglasses / spare glasses, pair of casual shoes, hat, umbrella, camera, films and accessories, insect repellent, hand cream, torch or flashlight with spare batteries, mirror, scissor, sun cream, lip salve or soluble aspirin, antiseptic cream, anti-diarrhea pills, etc.
