Ganesh Himal Trekking

Ganesh Himal Range on the Tibetan border are the complete wilderness and away from much of the trekkers. Ganesh Himal is named after the elephant-headed God of Good Fortune. The Ganesh Treks offer the views are Range peaks, Ganesh I, Ganesh II, Ganesh III, Ganesh IV, Paldor and Childor including the World 7th Highest Mt. Manaslu (8163m) and Langtang stand out like crystal and is the "Great Himalayan Chain" that dominates the skyline.

The trail starts from Trishuli / Betrawati following the upper valley landscapes. You will be observed the panoramic views of many majestic mountains, refreshing to see the smiling faces of native people and walking on the bank of rivers to follow the trail. You will have the opportunities to visit the inhabitants of these areas, who live in flat roofed fortress-like house in remote village. Culturally and naturally this is the very famous area, away from tourists. At the end of the trek is possible to see different traditions including the Tamang tradition which appears unchanged since the 18th century. The place is set ablaze by the blossom of double Jasmine; the forest is dense with Spanish oak, blue pine and, in spring time, the blossoming of Rhododendron sets the whole forest alight in a spectacular array of colors. Hot spas, gorges, glaciers and magnificent scenery complete the picture. There are interesting hill station from where we could explore panoramic views of the Ganesh Himal. This is highly recommended to people who want an authentic experience of Nepal.

Day 01: Arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) Kathmandu (1300m)

Day 02: Kathmandu: Sightseeing and Trek Preparation

Day 03: Drive Kathmandu to Betrawati, 5-6 hrs

Day 04: Trek Betrawati to Kispang (1850m) 5-6 hrs

Day 05: Trek Kispang to Thulo Chaur (2350m) 5-6 hr

Day 06: Trek Thulo Chaur - Gonga (3000m) 4-5 hrs

Ganesh Himal Trekking / 14 Days - Detail Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) Kathmandu (1300m)
Namaste & welcome to Mountain Guide Trek of Nepal. Upon your arrival, you will be greeted by a representative from Mountain guide Treks (MGT). After completing your custom formalities (Visa, etc) pick up your luggage and look for our representative with a Mountain Guide Treks and Expedition with Group leader's name display board at the arrival gate. You will be then transferred to Hotel. After check in, if time allows, you will visit MGT office to meet your trekking leader as well as other participants and for final preparation for the trip. It all depends upon your arrival time. (Overnight at deluxe hotel on BB basis)

Day 02: Kathmandu: Sightseeing and Trek Preparation
The day after breakfast we will start sightseeing tour with our professional tour guide to the several of most historical and spiritual Place in Kathmandu. Some of these landmarks are considered the World Heritage historic Sites such as Durbar Square, the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupati Nath, the famous 'Monkey Temple' (Swayambunath) and Buddhists shrine (Buddha Nath) which is one of the largest Stupas in the world. After come back from the tour there will be a pre-trip discussion with our trek leader and other team members. Mountain Guide Trek will brief you regarding your trek as well as we may have an opportunity to discuss any difficulties regarding our upcoming adventure. Rest of the time you could use for travelling around the Thamel and shopping of needed equipments and other necessaries. (Overnight at deluxe hotel on BB basis)

Day 03: Drive Kathmandu to Betrawati, 5-6 hrs
You will drive north of Kathmandu via Trishuli Bazaar. During the journey, you can pass famous hill station Kakani and Ranipauwa where you could see the Langtang Himalayan range in close distance. (Overnight at tented camp on full board basis)

Day 04: Trek Betrawati to Kispang (1850m) 5-6 hrs
Today our trail is uphills and we follow mostly the way gently up and we explore the local village and their tradition so on finally we will be in Kispang. (Overnight at tented camp on full board basis)

Day 05: Trek Kispang to Thulo Chaur (2350m) 5-6 hrs
Today our trek is really pleasant so gradually uphills. On the way we will pass the Tamang village and their culture, some of the places we meet monastery and gorgeous natural waterfall and we stay in Thulo Chaur. (Overnight at tented camp on full board basis)

Day 06: Trek Thulo Chaur - Gonga (3000m) 4-5 hrs
At the beginning uphill walk and gradual uphill through rhododendron forest which is the national flower of Nepal all the way to Gonga, which is our camp site. You could see Langtang Lirung and Gosainkunda mountain ranges from here. (Overnight at tented camp on full board basis)

Day 07: Trek Rupchet to Shing La pass (4500m) to Cherma (2900m) 7-8 hrs
It would be long day to finish so this day also will interesting to see amazing mountain views with sunrise when we reach on the crown this is the highest pass in this trekking and we decent down to Cherma.

Day 08: Trek Cherma to Meyghang (2300m) 5-6 hrs
On the way we follow the forest with juniper, pine trees and other many more. We meet the village with Tamang ethnic group with fabulous mountain views. (Overnight at tented camp on full board basis)

Day 09: Trek Meyghang to Darkha (1500m) 6-7 hrs
Cross landslide nearby Jharlang, you begin your trek through ascent path with views of Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, dense forest, waterfall, farming terraces and villages Darkha is the first Brahmin village on this trek. You can enjoy the view of from here Aankhu stream at some distance. (Overnight at tented camp on full board basis)

Day 10: Trek Darkhu to Khahare Bazaar, 5-6 hrs
The early part of your trek is descent up to Darkha Phedi and your route moves along the river bank until you reach Khahare There is a big market at Khahare Bazaar with lodges, tea shops, big school and other important buildings. This place is famous for magnificent views of farming terrace. (Overnight at tented camp on full board basis)

Day 11: Rest and explore day at Khahare
There are many things to do for you today as there is school. You are welcome to visit the school and there is a river where we can go for swimming & fishing. Also we could visit to the local market and know their lifestyle of the local people. (Overnight at tented camp on full board basis)

Day 12: Drive Khahare Bazaar to Kathmandu by bus, 7- 8 hrs
The road till Dhadingbesi moves through unpaved road and then you drive along the well paved road until you reach Kathmandu It can be best defined as scenic journey due to the beautiful views of rivers, hills, terraces, forests and villages. (Over night at deluxe hotel on BB basis)

Day 13: Leisure day in Kathmandu
Today is your leisure day, if interested you could buy some gifts from Nepal for your friends and relatives, you will visit some nearby shops or venture at Thamel for typical Nepalese goods which can be assisted by our guides or you can do it yourself too. If enthralled to explore some other areas of Kathmandu you could take some more time to do that today! Remember, we will be hosting a fantastic celebration "Farewell dinner" at traditional Nepalese restaurant with Mountain Guide Trek staffs for successful completion of the Ganesh Himal Trek! (Overnight at deluxe hotel on BB basis)

Day 14: Farewell Friend (Final departure to your onward destination)
Today is last day in Nepal for this trip; you are saying good bye to the mountains as journey in Nepal comes to an end today! There is nothing to do but trade emails with travel companions and organize the photos. If you have more time you can do some shopping or sightseeing. Approximately 3 hours before the scheduled flight a representative from Mountain Guide Treks will take you to the airport.

  • Nepal entree visa: you can get a visa easily upon your arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu (a multiple-entry tourist visa good for 30 days can be obtained by Paying US $ 40 or equivalent foreign currency. Similarly, multiple-entry tourist visas for 90 days can be obtained by paying US $ 100. Please bring 2 copies of passport-size photos.)
