Ghandruk Trek is short, easy and popular trekking trail for those people do not have long holidays. Ghandruk trekking is also known as Ghandruk culture trek. It is populated of ethnic Gurung people. It is located in the Western part of Nepal. Those who go for Ghandruk trek can also enjoy Hiking in Winter and summer season.

Ghandruk trek offers to see you a spectacular Mountain View along with charming Gurung village and their daily lifestyles, culture and sunrise view. You can enjoy the view of fishtail (6993m), Hiunchuli (6441m), Annapurna South (7219m), Lamjung Himal and its ranges. March, April and May are the suitable months to enjoy beautiful national flowers with the picturesque peak of Machhapuchhare (Fishtail Peak) and Annapurna ranges. You can see the breathtaking reddish Jungle of Rhododendron which blooms in the month of March / April with great landscapes, Rivers & waterfalls. Ghandruk Village is also popular for the view of sun rise over the Himalayan giants; fishtail (6993m) ranges. Ghandruk village trek is also suitable for childrens and to those who is not interested for long trekking, as it doesn't require any particular fitness. As Ghandruk lies in the route of Annapurna base camp trek, you will find larger number of trekkers walking through Ghandruk.Together you will be exploring the scenic and magnificent beauty of the rich Nature, encounter Gurung culture in Ghandruk and Pothana villages.

Ghandruk Village Trekking / 05 Days - Outline Itinerary

Day 01: Fly Kathmandu to Pokhara, 25 min/drive 6-7 hrs (850 m)

Day 02: Pokhara to Ghandruk (1940m) 5-6 hrs

Day 03: Ghandruk to Pothana (1990m) 5-6 hrs

Day 04: Pothana to Pokhara, 3-4 hrs

Day 05: Pokhara to Kathmandu fly 25 min. / drive 6-7 hrs

 

Ghandruk Village Trekking / 05 Days - Details Itinerary

Will start early morrning flight, 25 min fly to Pokhara as per departure time. A city that offers us the magnificent view of various mountains namely Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, Machhapuchre and other mountain of Annapurna range. You have good chance to do some last minute shopping and self exploration around the town, walk around few lake, boating etc; (Overnight at deluxe hotel on BB basis)

Day 02: Pokhara to Ghandruk (1940m) 5-6 hrs
After breakfast early morning travel by car to Nayapul and trek continues to along the terraced fields with a constant view of the Himalayan mountain ranges with superb views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Gangapurna Annapurna III and Machhapuchhare. The landscape remains relatively flat, before crossing over a suspension bridge over Khumbu Khola to Ghandruk. Ghandruk is a large Gurung village and has its own museum and handicraft center again popular with visitors. (Overnight at tea house on full board basis)

Day 03: Ghandruk to Pothana (1990m) 5-6 hrs
The trek from Ghandruk to Pothana is about six hours and begins with a steep descent following a stone staircase to Kimbu which means Bee Hive. Kimbu is located at an elevation of 1200m on the bank of the Modi Khola. From here on the trail continues upwards through Landruk, then Deurali (2150m) passing through Tolkha village (1850m) which means there are panoramic views of Dhaulagiri I, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Machhapuchhare, Annapurna III, Annapurna IV, Annapurna II and Lamjung Himal. The trail then descends to reach Pothana village. (Overnight at tea house on full board basis)

Day 04: Pothana to Pokhara, 3-4 hrs
Around 3 hrs trek down to Phedi with good views of the mountains before Phedi and 30 min drive back to Pokhara by private car. (Overnight at deluxe hotel on BB basis)

Day 05: Pokhara to Kathmandu fly 25 min. / drive 6-7 hrs
you could choose afternoon flight to Kathmandu till some hours before flight; you may take an optional sightseeing tour around Pokhara or enjoy adventure activities such as boat riding, paragliding, etc. While returning to Kathmandu from Pokhara, be sure to catch the left side of airplane for the best views of Himalayas. (Overnight at deluxe hotel on BB basis)

  • 2 night's hotel accommodation at Pokhara in tourist standard hotel on BB basis.
  • Guest house/tented accommodation according to given itinerary (sharing in 2 bed-room) and 3 meals (Breakfast, lunch, Dinner) during the trek

  • Down jacket, for seasonal sleeping bag, Mountain Guide treks & Expedition kit bag/duffel bag,trekking map (down jacket and sleeping bag are to be returned after trip completion)

Cost Exclude

  • Nepal entree visa: you can get a visa easily upon your arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu (A multiple-entry tourist visa good for 30 days can be obtained by Paying US $ 40 or equivalent foreign currency. Similarly, multiple-entry tourist visas for 90 days can be obtained by paying US $100. Please bring 2 copies of passport-size photos)
  • International airfare
  • Lunch and dinner in Kathmandu or Pokhara (and also in the case of early return from the mountain than the scheduled itinerary)
  • Extra night accommodation in Kathmandu and Pokhara because of early arrival, late departure, and early return from the mountain(due to any reason) than the scheduled itinerary
