The Ghorepani Poon Hill trekking is one of the easiest trekking trails. The trekking to this area takes you to the west of Pokhara and gives magnificent views of Himalayas lying in the Annapurna area. One of the attraction in this trekking is that you will have chance to have a trip to Poon hill, from where we can seen an amazing scenes of sunrise and you also can cherish an incredible panoramic views of the Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m), Mt. Annapurna I (8091m), Mt. Manaslu (8163), Mt. Annapurna II (7937m), Mt. Annapurna III(7555m), Mt. Annapurna IV (7525m), Mt. Annapurna south (7219m), Mt. Nilgiri (7041m), Mt. Fishtail also called Machhapuchhare (6998m), Mt. Hiunchuli (6441m), Mt. Lamjung Himal (6986m), Tukuche peak (6920m), Tilicho peak (7134m) among others.
Ghorepani trekking is suitable for those who have limited holidays but want to views of the Annapurna Himalaya range within a short span of time. Ghorepani trekking is one of the best trekking destinations in Annapurna region because one can see almost all the mountains lying in the Annapurna region within a week. Ghorepani trekking begins from Pokhara via Nayapul, the trail continues along the Modi Khola to Birethati and climbs up via Tikhedunga Ulleri to Ghorepani, from here you can not only see the sunrise but also the panoramic views of Himalayas including Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m), Mt. Annapurna I (8091m), Mt. Nilgiri (7040m), Annapurna south (7219m), Annapurna II (7937m), Annapurna III (7555m), Annapurna IV (7525m), Hunchuli (6441m), fishtail or Machhapuchhare (6998m), Lamjung Himal (6986m), Tukuch peak (6920m), Dhampus peak (6012m) among others. You also can see various kinds of butter flies and enjoy with the blend of culture and traditions of various ethnic groups such as Bramin, Chhetri, Magar, Thakali, and Gurung and finally you will return back from same route to Pokhara and subsequently in Kathmandu.
Day 01: Arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) Kathmandu (1300m).
Day 02: Kathmandu: Sightseeing and Trek Preparation.
Day 03: Drive or fly to Pokhara (850 m).
Day 04: Drive to Nayapul and trek to Tikadhunga / Ulleri (1980 m) 3-4 hrs.
Day 05: Tikadhunga / Ulleri (1980 m) to Ghorepani (2800m) 6-7 hrs.
Day 06: Ghorepani to Poon Hill (3210m) to Tadapani (2540m), 6-7 hrs.
Day 07: Tadapani (2540m) to Ghandruk (1940 m), 4-5 hrs.
Day 08: Ghandruk (1940 m) to Nayapul (1070 m) & drive to Pokhara, 4-5 hrs.
Day 09: Pokhara to Kathmandu flight 30 min. / drive 6-7 hrs.
Day 10: Farewell friend (Final departure to your onward destination).
Day 01: Arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) Kathmandu (1300m).
Namaste & welcome to Mountain Guide Trek of Nepal. Upon your arrival, you will be greeted by a representative from Mountain guide Treks (MGT). After completing your custom formalities (Visa, etc) pick up your luggage and look for our representative with a Mountain Guide Treks and Expedition with Group leader's name display board at the arrival gate. You will be then transferred to Hotel. After check in, if time allows, you will visit MGT office to meet your trekking leader as well as other participants and for final preparation for the trip. It all depends upon your arrival time. (Overnight at deluxe hotel on BB basis)
Day 02: Kathmandu: Sightseeing and Trek Preparation.
The day after breakfast we will start sightseeing tour with our professional tour guide to the several of most historical and spiritual Place in Kathmandu. Some of these landmarks are considered the World Heritage historic Sites such as Durbar Square, the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupati Nath, the famous 'Monkey Temple' (Swayambunath) and Buddhists shrine (Buddha Nath) which is one of the largest Stupas in the world. After come back from the tour there will be a pre-trip discussion with our trek leader and other team members. Mountain Guide Trek will brief you regarding your trek as well as we may have an opportunity to discuss any difficulties regarding our upcoming adventure. Rest of the time you could use for travelling around the Thamel and shopping of needed equipments and other necessaries. (Overnight at deluxe hotel on BB basis)
Day 03: Drive or fly to Pokhara (850 m).
Start your travel early in the morning at 7:00 am, we will arrange ticket in tourist coach at river side seat to enjoy the scenery; the road follows by Trisuli River where you see many people rafting on the river. Around 6/7 hours (200km) drive we reach Pokhara (a city of Lake, literally); or 30 min. fly to Pokhara as per departure time. A city that offers us the magnificent view of various mountains namely Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, Machhapuchre and other mountain of Annapurna range. Do some last minute shopping and self exploration around the town, walk around few lake, boating etc. (Overnight at deluxe hotel on BB basis)
Day 04: Drive to Nayapul and trek to Tikadhunga / Ulleri (1980 m) 3-4 hrs.
After breakfast in Pokhara at 7:30 drive to Nayapul where walking starts from. The drive takes 1:5 hours to Nayapul(42km) by car.Then trails leads up through the beautiful rice, maze and millet farms of locals. Fallowing the main trail of Birethanti passed small waterfall. The trail reaches Sudami where you have Lunch. After lunch climb steadily side of valley you reach at Hile and after half an hour you reach at Tikhedhunga for overnight stay or you will walk further until Ulleri for that you need to climbs 3000 stones steps from Tikadhunga. (Overnight at tea house on full board basis)
Day 05: Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani (2800m) 4-5 hrs.
In the morning breakfast will be served at hotel at 7:00am to be prepared for Ulleri (2070m) climb. The trail goes steep up for 1.5 hours through stone steps where the trail leads through cultivated fields Rest of trails goes through inside blooming rhododendron and Oak forest after that trek to Nangethanti which will be your lunch spot in Nangethanti. Thanti is a Nepali words meaning "rest house" "Dharmasala". In the winter the trail can be covered with snow. After lunch trek rests for about an hour. Then climb to Ghorepani at 2850m. (Overnight at tea house on full board basis)
Day 06: Ghorepani to Poon hill to Tadapani (2540 m) 6-7 hrs.
The most important day of your trek early morning wake up and start your journey climb to Poon Hill (3210m) around 1 hr. to provides best majestic scenery and sunrise over the high mountains. Lot of white mountain can be seen from Poon like Dhaulagiri [8167m], Annapurna South [7119m] Fishtail [6993m], Nilgiri south, Singa Chuli, Annapurna I (8091m) and many more peaks. You then come down to Ghorepani to have breakfast and trek to Tadapani for 6 hours. Trek leads mainly up and down hill through the forest. (Overnight at tea house on full board basis)
Day 07: Tadapani to Ghandrung (1940 m) 5-6 hrs.
After breakfast your journey leads to Ghandruk. The most ethnic cultural is in Gurung people which are very famous in Ghandruk village. The trail mainly through forest and goes gentle down Evening explore the Gurung museum to know about their traditional cloths and useful equipment. (Overnight at tea house on full board basis)
Day 08: Ghandruk to Pokhara, 5-6 hrs.
Treks down to Nayapul through the cultivated fields in Modi Khola valley and drive to Pokhara (1 hrs). End of the trek. (Overnight at deluxe hotel on full board basis)
Day 09: Pokhara to Kathmandu fly 25 min. /drive 6-7 hrs.
You could choose afternoon flight to Kathmandu, till some hours before flight; you may take an optional sightseeing tour in and around Pokhara or enjoy adventure activities such as boat riding, paragliding, etc. While returning to Kathmandu from Pokhara, be sure to catch the left side of airplane for the best views of Himalayas. Or if you would like to choose by bus, we will arrange ticket in tourist coach at river side seat and start your journey at 7:30 am from Pokhara. Left site’s seats of vehicles are nice to enjoy the scenery; the road follows by Trisuli River where you see many people rafting on the river. Around 2:00 pm you will arrive at Kathmandu (beside Thamel) and transfer to your hotel. The day at leisure to rest, perhaps catch up on some last minute shopping or explore any sights you missed during your first day in Kathmandu! Remember, we will be hosting a fantastic celebration "Farewell dinner" at traditional Nepalese restaurant together with Mountain Guide Trek staffs for successful completion of the Ghorepani (Poon Hill) Trek! Day 10: Farewell Friend (Final departure to your onward destination).
Today is last day in Nepal for this trip; you are saying good bye to the mountains as journey in Nepal, comes to an end today, There is nothing to do but trade emails with travel companions and organize the photos. If you have more time you can do some shopping or sightseeing. Approximately 3 hours before the scheduled flight a representative from Mountain Guide Treks will take you to the airport.
