Beyond the ridge, the valley widens as the trail passes through Pangka at 4390m then descends to the river bank before beginning the climb onto the terminal moraine of the Ngozumpa glacier. It is a steep climb up the moraine, switch backing alongside the stream to the first small lake Longponga (4650m) where a family of Brahmin ducks has resided for many years. It takes about 2 hours to get to the top and an hour to get back to Gokyo for breakfast and trek down to Nha, situated at the foot of the Ngozumpa Glacier, 2 hours down the valley from Gokyo. (Overnight at tea house on full board basis)

Day 09: Trek Nha to Phortse (3542m) 4-5 hrs
Now we descend the opposite side of the Dudh Kosi Valley to the village of Phortse. The descent is straightforward following the east side of the valley providing different views of the Khumbu peaks. Enter Phortse at the upper part of the village. Phortse is a magnificently situated village, beneath steep hills and overlooking the junction of the Dudh Kosi and Imja Khola rivers by downhill to a lower altitude, we are allowing our bodies to recover from the exertions at Gokyo and are following the correct procedures for acclimatizing. (Overnight at tea house on full board basis)

Day 10: Trek Phortse to Dingboche (4336m) 5-6 hrs
From Phortse the trail climbs and contours around the West side of the Imja Khola Valley providing excellent views of Ama Dablam, the Nuptse-Lhotse wall, and Everest. The trail initially has some steep drops but the paths are good. We enter upper Pangboche and after lunch visit the monastery, the oldest in the Khumbu. From Pangboche we walk through alpine grazing land passing several yak herders' huts. The first village we come to is Shomare owned by the villages of Pangboche and used for growing potatoes. Our route passes lower than the towering Ama Dablam and after crossing the Lobuche Khola on a wooden bridge we follow the Imja Khola to Dingboche, the highest permanently inhabited village in the Khumbu is Dingboche. (Overnight at tea house on full board basis)

Day 11: Trek Dingboche to Lobuche (4939m) 4-5 hrs
We climb the ridge and cross the flat plain above the Pheriche Valley. The trail leads to the bridge crossing a small stream immediately before Duglha. After passing the village of Duglha we climb higher onto the terminal moraine of the Khumbu glacier, passing a row of stone monuments built-in memory of Sherpas and some foreign climbers who have died on mountaineering expeditions in the area. From here the trail climbs gently and follows the west side of the valley to Lobuche. Lobuche is set on the slopes of an ablation valley and the moraine towards Nuptse offers excellent views, the sunset on Nuptse from here can be quite spectacular. (Overnight at tea house on full board basis)

Day 12: Trek Lobuche to Gorakshep (5,160m) 5-6 hrs
We continue our trek along the moraine of the glacier, with views of Kalapathar and Pumori. You have good chances for the best view of Mt. Nuptse a front of you walking along the Gorekshep. The trail up to the Gorakshep is rocky and windy but it offers a good view of Pumori and there are beautiful views of the Everest Base camp and glacier with scenic Mountain views. We enjoy the night at Gorakshep the higher elevation. (Overnight at tea house on full board basis)

Day 13: Hike Kalapathar (5545m) and stroll back to Lobuche (4939m) 7-8 hrs
Early morning our journey continue to climb to the top of the famous viewpoint Kalapatthar (5545m). After reaching the top, you will feel happy as you achieve the moment that you have been dreaming, of since the beginning of the journey. Kalapathar is a small rocky peak on the southwest ridge of Mt. Pumori and the view from here is beyond imagination as Everest looks amazing. You can also see the Everest Base camp down below on the moraine of the Khumbu glacier and a lot of picturesque scenery. After enjoying the panoramic views stroll back to Gorakshep for the breakfast and go down to Lobuche. (Overnight at tea house on full board basis)

Day 14: Trek Lobuche to Pangboche (3770m) 5-6 hrs
Downhill most of the ways, descending to Dughla and Pheriche, the Himalayan Rescue Association has a trekker's aid post here and it is quite interesting to have a look around and maybe have a chat with the doctors running the post. From Pheriche, we cross the Lobuche Khola on a wooden suspension bridge and follow the Imja Khola to the village of Pangboche where we stay overnight. We are only half an hour from Thyangboche but the water supply is much cleaner and more reliable here than at Thyangboche. The views up the valley to the Nuptse-Lhotse wall with Everest behind are fantastic from Pangboche. (Overnight at tea house on full board basis)

Day 15: Trek Pangboche to Namche Bazaar (3450m) to Monjo (2815m) 5-6 hrs
From Pangboche it is just 30 minutes of climbing through birch and rhododendron forest to the ridge where Thyangboche monastery is located. We spend time visiting the monastery before descending through the forest to the bridge over the Dudh Kosi at Phungki where there are water-driven prayer wheels. We then climb and contour around the hillside to Sanasa and on to Namche Bazaar. This is a lovely day's walk, the descent is easy and relaxed with the hard work behind us and our return journey provides different views of the mountains and villages that we passed on our ascent. We continue descending from Namche to the Dudh Kosi Valley and on to Monjo. (Overnight at tea house on full board basis)

Day 16: Trek Manjo to Lukla (2800m) 4-5 hrs
The last day of this great trek will be one of the good walks to Lukla, you can walk at your special normal speed, leisurely, and enjoy the lush green scenery around. Apart from a few short uphills, the only long climb will be just before Lukla which will take approx 45 minutes from a place called Chop's lung or from the old big oak tree on reaching Lukla, prepare for the last day's great dinner and a party with the fellow Sherpa crew, porters and trekking members for a memorable trip. (Overnight at tea house on full board basis)

Day 17: Fly Lukla to Kathmandu - 30 min.
If the weather is good, early in the morning you fly back to Kathmandu after your long mountain journey. After 30 min you will arrive at the domestic airport in Kathmandu. We will send a private Car/van/bus to pick up you at the hotel then you can rest and relax throughout the day in the hotel if you don't have any necessary things to do. (Overnight at deluxe hotel on BB basis)

Day 18: Farewell Friend (Final departure to your onward destination)
Today is the last day in Nepal for this trip; you are saying goodbye to the mountains as the journey in Nepal comes to an end today! There is nothing to do but trade emails with travel companions and organize the photos. If you have more time you can do some shopping or sightseeing. Approximately 3 hours before the scheduled flight a representative from Mountain Guide Treks will take you to the airport.

(Useful Info: - Please note that often the Kathmandu-Lukla-Kathmandu flight gets delayed by a few hours or may even be canceled for one, two, or more days due to bad weather conditions. Such conditions may happen even in the best seasons. Therefore, in such cases, you must be prepared for long waits both at Kathmandu or Lukla airports, as this can happen either at the start or end of the trek or even both! We do our extreme to avoid such delays and fix you on the next flight. Still, we suggest you be prepared for possible delays/cancellations, and if possible come with some extra buffer days (1-2 days) at the end of the trip to accommodate such delays. We also organize Heli rescue in such conditions, if it's available and upon request by our clients. In case, the flight delay/cancellation happens at the start of the trip and it goes so long that it disturbs your onward travel schedule, you are free to choose an alternative trip: such as a trek in the Annapurna, Langtang, or any other regions. If you are not interested in the alternative trip and would rather wait for the trip, you are welcome to wait in Kathmandu for as many days as it takes to get a flight to Lukla)
