Nirekha Peak Climbing

Nirekha Peak Climbing

Nirekha Peak Climbing

Nirekha peak climbing is a great summit in the border Himalayan range based in the Khumbu region. This peak is relatively located on the chain of Lobuche peak and just east of Cho-la Col which is just a few distances above the Cho-la pass. This peak is a newly opened Himalayan peak of Nepal and is listed in categories of grade 'A' among the trekking peaks in Nepal by the Nepal mountaineering Association. Only experienced climbers should attempt the summit of Nirekha which requires some technical skills in mountain climbing. Nirekha peak has two routes to climb one from Kanchung base camp and another from Lake base camp. The ascent from the Kanchung side is to be preferred on this itinerary since it is easier and shorter. The glacier to the Cho La Col on the Kanchung side is easy with only a few mostly harmless crevasses.

The ascent is mostly in ice and snow and is comparable to big alpine routes such as the Monch or Bernina. Despite the relatively small height difference, it demands excellent condition and acclimatization. This is quite technical but from the top, it is one of the best scenery in the Himalayan world. From the top, you’ll have an opportunity to see the best view of many high mountains such as Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Cho Oyu, and other surrounding Himalayan ranges. Nirekha Peak (6159m) is in the Mahalangur Region, deep in the Himalayas, close to the Tibetan border, and hidden among the well-known giants of Everest, Cho Oyu, and Cholatse. Only recently has it been opened up to Western climbers. The climb itself is relatively straightforward, though it does require an ice ax, crampons, and some fixed rope sections. It is a very do-able climb for anyone in good shape and with a desire for high adventure.

For Travelers to Nirekha Peak Climbing, we can customize the days according to the choice and interest of the travelers or if you have boundless time to explore the Everest region in more depth like the Everest Base Camp TrekLobuche Peak Climbing or the Mera Peak Climbing would be a suitable alternative for your vacation. Contact us for further details or individual requests.

We do our extreme to avoid such delays and fix you on the next flight. Still, we suggest you be prepared for possible delays/cancellations, and if possible come with some extra buffer days (1-2 days) at the end of the trip to accommodate such delays. We also organize Heli rescue in such conditions, if it's available and upon request by our clients.
