Nepal offers a very attractive Rock Climbing experience, Without Rock Climbing your visit to Nepal is just not completed. It is a physically and mentally demanding sport, one that often tests a climber’s strength, endurance, agility, and balance along with his or her mental control. Kathmandu valley offers some hair-raising spots if you want a cliffhanger experience in Nepal. There are some terrific places for those who get their kicks from crawling up vertical cliffs. Most of the cliffs are situated to the north and northwest of the valley, in the vicinity of the Nagarjun jungle and the Shivapuri watershed and wildlife reserve where rock climbing can be performed. This trip can be combined with bird watching, game watching, and experiencing some of the last of the valley's wilds. Nagarjun, located 3km North West of Kathmandu valley is a forested hill. It has twenty routes and is the best place for beginners, intermediate and professional climbers. All routes are well bolted. The climbing cliff here is located inside the Royal Forest. It takes 20 minutes to drive by private vehicle and is about a 1-hour walk from Thamel, Kathmandu. It is one of the nearest Climbing Sites in the Kathmandu valleys.
Day 01: Arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) Kathmandu (1300m)
Day 02: Kathmandu: Sightseeing and Trek Preparation.
Day 03: Drive to Nagarjuna / Full day Rock Climbing.
Day 04: Farewell Friend (Final departure to your onward destination).
Day 01: Arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) Kathmandu (1300m)
Namaste & welcome to Mountain Guide Trek of Nepal. Upon your arrival, you will be greeted by a representative from Mountain guide Treks (MGT). After completing your custom formalities (Visa, etc) pick up your luggage and look for our representative with a Mountain Guide Treks and Expedition with the Group leader's name display board at the arrival gate. You will be then transferred to Hotel. After check-in, if time allows, you will visit the MGT office to meet your trekking leader as well as other participants and for final preparation for the trip. It all depends upon your arrival time. (Overnight at deluxe hotel on BB basis)
Day 02: Kathmandu: Sightseeing and Trek Preparation.
The day after breakfast we will start a sightseeing tour with our professional tour guide to the several of most historical and spiritual Places in Kathmandu. Some of these landmarks are considered World Heritage historic Sites such as Durbar Square, the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupati Nath, the famous 'Monkey Temple' (Swayambunath), and the Buddhist shrine (Buddha Nath) which is one of the largest Stupas in the world. After coming back from the tour there will be a pre-trip discussion with our trek leader and other team members. Mountain Guide Trek will brief you regarding your trek as well as we may have an opportunity to discuss any difficulties regarding our upcoming adventure. The rest of the time you could use it for traveling around the Thamel and shopping for needed equipment and other necessities. (Overnight at deluxe hotel on BB basis)
Day 03: Drive to Nagarjuna / Full day Rock Climbing.
After breakfast you drive 3 km to Nagarjun, North West of Kathmandu valley is the forested hill. It has twenty routes and is the best place for beginners, intermediate and professional climbers. All routes are well bolted. The climbing cliff here is located inside the Royal Forest. It takes 20 minutes to drive by private vehicle and is about a 1-hour walk from Thamel, Kathmandu. It is one of the nearest Climbing Sites in the Kathmandu valleys. As you reach there you will get a site briefing & equip with climbing gears. You enjoy a full day of climbing with packed lunch. In the evening you return to your destination. Shopping, dinner & overnight at hotel.
Day 04: Farewell Friend (Final departure to your onward destination).
Today is the last day in Nepal for this trip; you are saying goodbye to the mountains as the journey in Nepal comes to an end today! There is nothing to do but trade emails with travel companions and organize the photos. If you have more time you can do some shopping or sightseeing. Approximately 3 hours before the scheduled flight a representative from Mountain Guide Treks will take you to the airport.
