The Royal Trek is one of the short treks and also can be done by all age groups follows a shrub like path along the foothills of Annapurna, north of the Pokhara valley. The Royal Trek is one of the short and easy treks that. It is called the Royal Trek as it was the Prince of Wales who first trekked this region. It is also called the Annapurna Skyline trek. Pokhara valley serves as the starting and ending point of the Royal Trek. The trekking trail follows a semi-circle route to the north-west direction of Pokhara. This Royal Trek presents a true picture of uniqueness and allowing us the chance to capture the traditional lifestyles of the tribes whose ancient religious practices and traditions have remained unchanged for thousands of years. Compared to other trekking areas in Annapurna region, Royal Trekking route is less crowded, so you can get more close to nature, culture and lifestyle.
This Royal Trek provides the opportunities for meaningful cultural experiences with the diverse mix of peoples and cultures that inhabit this region. The journey of Royal Trek begins in the beautiful lakeside city of Pokhara passes through beautiful Gurung hamlets. During the trek, we are able to enjoy stunning views of the eloquently built hillside rice terraces, and the magnificent Annapurna range, Machapuchhre (fishtail) and the Langtang Mountain views. The trip finally ends at the scenic Begnas Lake which is about 30 km west of Pokhara City. You can also experience the rural life of Nepal and spend quiet moments beside the Begnas Lake.
Day 01: Arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) Kathmandu (1300m)
Day 02: Kathmandu to Pokhara fly 25 min / drive 6-7 hrs (850 m)
Day 03: Drive Pokhara to Kalikasthan (1370m) 4-5 hrs.
Day 04: Trek Kalikasthan (1370m) to Lipeyani (990m) 5-6 hrs.
Day 05: Trek Lipeyani to Chisopani (1260m) 5-6 hrs.
Day 06: Trek Chisopani (1260m) to Begnas Tal Bazaar / Pokhara(850m) 5-6 hrs.
Day 07: Pokhara to Kathmandu fly 25 min. / drive 6-7 hrs.

Day 01: Arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) Kathmandu (1300m)
Namaste & welcome to Mountain Guide Trek of Nepal. Upon your arrival, you will be greeted by a representative from Mountain guide Treks (MGT). After completing your custom formalities (Visa, etc) pick up your luggage and look for our representative with a Mountain Guide Treks and Expedition with Group leader's name display board at the arrival gate. You will be then transferred to Hotel. After check in, if time allows, you will visit MGT office to meet your trekking leader as well as other participants and for final preparation for the trip. It all depends upon your arrival time. (Overnight at deluxe hotel on BB basis)
Day 02: Kathmandu to Pokhara fly 25 min / drive 6-7 hrs (850 m)
Start your travel early in the morning at 7:00 am; we will arrange ticket in tourist coach at river side seat to enjoy the scenery; the road follows by Trisuli River where you see many people rafting on the river. Around 6/7 hours (200km) drive we reach Pokhara (a city of Lake, literally); or 30 min. fly to Pokhara as per departure time. A city that offers us the magnificent view of various mountains namely Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, Machhapuchre and other mountain of Annapurna range. You have good chance to do some last minute shopping and self exploration around the town, walk around few lake, boating etc; (Overnight at deluxe hotel on BB basis)
Day 03: Drive Pokhara to Kalikasthan (1370m) 4-5 hrs.
A broad trail starts through rice fields near the Army Camp, and then ascends through Rakhigaon to a Chautara, a resting place under a large Pipal tree. En route, you enjoy the panoramic views. Now the trail climbs gently along a ridge top through the Brahmin and Chhetris villages towards Kalikasthan (1370m). At the end, you climb a short distance to the campsite which is situated above the village with panoramic views of the mountain, Begnas Tal and Pokhara city. (Overnight at tented camp on full board basis)
Day 04: Trek Kalikasthan (1370m) to Lipeyani (990m) 5-6 hrs.
The trail follows along the forested ridge top along a rough drivable road passing through Thulokot and Majhthana (1220m) and begins to climb gently for some distance and proceeds through Naudanda than you descend gently towards Lipeyani. The view from here of Machhapuchhre, Annapurna ranges, Lamjung Himal and Manasalu. (Overnight at tented camp on full board basis)
Day 05: Trek Lipeyani to Chisopani (1260m) 5-6 hrs.
The trail follows along the drivable road for some distance and then starts to climb gently for a short time. You then begin on a level trek to Shaklung village (1250m) and Gurung village after that road passing through forests until reaching Ramkot (1030m.), then descends steeply to cross a road named Sarka Bhanjyang (870m). Still you continue to climb gently towards Chisopani village, a home of the Gurung community. (Overnight at tented camp on full board basis)
Day 06: Trek Chisopani (1260m) to Begnas Tal Bazaar / Pokhara(850m) 5-6 hrs.
From Chisopani Danda, you descend along the ridge for an hour or so and then descend steeply along the stone steps, into a small valley and stream that feeds Rupa Taal. Continue for a short distance through rice fields, and then make a final ascent to the ridge that separates Begnas Taal and Rupa Taal. This ridge is called Sundari Danda (720m) and means pretty hills. From these hills, your trek continues to climb gently before descending into Begnas Taal Bazaar. After exploring Begnas Taal (Lake) we take vehicle and return back to Pokhara. (Overnight at deluxe hotel on BB basis)
Day 07: Pokhara to Kathmandu fly 25 min. / drive 6-7 hrs.
you could choose afternoon flight to Kathmandu, till some hours before flight; you may take an optional sightseeing tour around Pokhara or enjoy adventure activities such as boat riding, paragliding, etc. While returning to Kathmandu from Pokhara, be sure to catch the left side of airplane for the best views of Himalayas. Or if you would like to choose by bus, we will arrange ticket in tourist coach at river side seat and start your journey at 7:30 am from Pokhara. Left site's seats of vehicles are nice to enjoy the scenery; the road follows by Trisuli River where you see many people rafting on the river. After 6/7 hours you will arrive at Kathmandu (beside Thamel) and transfer to your hotel. The day at leisure to rest, perhaps catch up on some last minute shopping or explore any sights you missed during your first day in Kathmandu. Remember, we will be hosting a fantastic celebration "Farewell dinner" at traditional Nepalese restaurant together with Mountain Guide Trek staffs for successful completion of the Royal Trek! Day 08: Farewell Friend (Final departure to your onward destination)
Today is last day in Nepal for this trip; you are saying good bye to the mountains as journey in Nepal, comes to an end today, There is nothing to do but trade emails with travel companions and organize the photos. If you have more time you can do some shopping or sightseeing. Approximately 3 hours before the scheduled flight a representative from Mountain Guide Treks will take you to the airport.
