Thorong Peak Climbing is one of the most popular and successful adventure programs among the adventure. Thorong peak is in the Annapurna region which is not so difficult to climb. Thorong peak is left above on the way to the most well-known Thorong la pass (5416m.) thousand trekkers very years through this pass. Thorong Peak standing at 6100 meters is the nice snow mountain on the left, just to the south of the Thorung La, seen just past the Gya La (3970m) between Tetang and Muktinath. The trail from Tetang descends from the Gya La (3970m) and eventually joins the main trail from Manang to Ranipauwa. Muktinath is visible in the lower right. This mountain is the shortest possibility to gain a 6000 m-peak while doing the famous trekking around Annapurna. The highest point of this Trekking is Thorong La (pass), 5416 m. From this pass, it is the first mountain to the south.

Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Bulbule (850m) 7-8 hrs.

Thorong Peak Climbing / 18 Days - Detail Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) Kathmandu (1300m).
Namaste & welcome to Mountain Guide Trek of Nepal. Upon your arrival, you will be greeted by a representative from Mountain guide Treks (MGT). After completing your custom formalities (Visa, etc) pick up your luggage and look for our representative with a Mountain Guide Treks and Expedition with the Group leader's name display board at the arrival gate. You will be then transferred to Hotel. After check-in, if time allows, you will visit the MGT office to meet your trekking leader as well as other participants and for final preparation for the trip. It all depends upon your arrival time. (Overnight at deluxe hotel on BB basis)

Day 02: Kathmandu: Sightseeing and Trek Preparation.
Normally, you need to be trained for rock climbing a day course before starting your trek, so you will be taken to a natural rock climbing spot Balaju which is a 3 Km drive from Thamel. We will offer excellent opportunities to learn how to use climbing equipment like; rope, harness, Ice ax, and crampons while maintaining your physical fitness. Alternatively, we will start a half-day sightseeing tour with our professional tour guide to the several of most historical and spiritual Places in Kathmandu. Some of these places are considered the World Heritage historic Sites such as Durbar Square, the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupati Nath, the famous 'Monkey Temple' (Swayambunath), and the Buddhist shrine (Buddha Nath) which is one of the largest Stupas in the world. After coming back from the tour there will be a pre-trip discussion with our trek guide and other team members. Mountain Guide Trek will brief you regarding your trek as well as we may have an opportunity to discuss any difficulties regarding our upcoming adventure. The rest of the time you could use it for traveling around the Thamel and shopping for needed equipment and other necessities. (Overnight at deluxe hotel on BB basis)

Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Bulbule (850m) 7-8 hrs.
This morning after breakfast we will start our journeys with a drive through the beautiful river view & Nepalese countryside to reach Bhulbule (850m), a countryside hill in the footsteps of Annapurna & Manasalu. (Overnight at tea house on full board basis)

Day 04: Trek Bhulbule to Jagat (1330m) 7-8 hrs.
Our adventure begins after breakfast, we pack up the gear and wear suitable dressed as below section and walk through the trail where a new road is constructing leading to the Manang village. We follow the Marsyangdi River crossing a few local wooden and suspension bridges, passing waterfalls, several ups, and downs hill sections, across rice paddies and subtropical forest to reach Bahundanda (1310m) and stop for lunch then we descend through amphitheater-shaped rice terraces, along a steep vertical cliff, lush forests, and some culturally intriguing villages. We start gradually walking up after crossing the suspension bridge in the Mayshyangdi River and get to Jagat. (Overnight at tea house on full board basis)

Day 05: Trek Jagat to Dharapani (2160m) 6-7 hrs.
After breakfast, we will have one and half an hour rocky trail walk to reach Chamje village, which is a small village settlement with a primary school surrounded by bamboo bushes. Our continuing journey leads with crossing a suspension bridge in Marshyangdi river just right after you left Chamje and you will see the waterfall, rocky lands, and trails with passes a small teashop and enter to Manang district just before the Tal village. This is a beautiful village situated on the river bank with a beautiful waterfall view. You will cross the river and continue walking through the cliff way right above the river and reach our overnight camp at Dharapani village. (Overnight at tea house on full board basis)

Day 06: Trek Dharapani to Chame (2670m) 5-6 hrs.
From Dharapani an hour's walk will reach Bagarchhap. The first view of Mt. Annapurna II can be visible closely from this beautiful town. On this day you will negotiate a few steep forested landscapes, along with several landslides on the route, remember to look up though, as you will receive some sensational views of major Himalayan peaks. On this day you will encounter some typical Tibetan villages en route before reaching Chame (2670m). Chame is the districts headquarter of Manang and it is one of the beautiful Himalayan towns with views of Mt. Lamjung and Annapurna II can be seen closely. Day 07: Trek Chame to Pisang (3200m) 6-7 hrs.
Another pleasant walk through the narrow steep path with a very dense pine forest following the river bank will lead you to the village of Bratang with the Apple garden for the tea stop. After here we follow the forested path and rocky trails before crossing the suspension bridge and climb an hour to get to the lunch spot at Dhukur Pokhari. From this small settlement, we will see the first view of Pisang peak and surrounding other Himalayan ranges. After lunch, we will walk an hour to get to the next stop at Pisang village. (Overnight at tea house on full board basis)

Day 08: Trek Pisang to Manang (3540m) 5-6 hrs. 
Today we continue through the drier upper part of the Manang district, cut off from the full effect of the monsoon by the Annapurna Range. People of this region herd the yaks & raise crops for part of the year. They also continue to enjoy special trading rights gained way back in 1784. Leaving Pisang, we have alternate trails north and south of the Marsyangdi River which meets up again at Mungji. The southern route by Hongde, with its airstrip (3325m) involves less climbing than the northern route via Ghyaru, though there are better views on the trail that follows the northern bank of the river. From Mungji, the trail continues past the picturesque but partially hidden village of Bryanga (3475m) to nearby Manang (3540m). (Overnight at tea house on full board basis)

Day 09: Acclimatization day at Manang village (3540m).
Today we spend a day acclimatizing in Manang. The whole day we spend doing some fine day walks and overviewing the magnificent views around the village & the day time is best to gain altitude. There are many places to visit around. The village of about 500 flat-roofed houses in the picturesque set amongst some spectacular scenery -Annapurna II, Annapurna III (7555m), Gangapurna (7454m) to the South - Tilicho (7132m), and the Grand Barrier to the West - Chulu West (6583m) and Chulu East (6059m) to the North. At the end of the day, we return to our accommodation & have a night's rest. (Overnight at tea house on full board basis)

Day 10: Manang to Yak Kharka (4110) 5-6 hrs.
After a wonderful exploration at Manang village this morning we head towards the Yak Kharka leaving the trail off to Tilicho Lake on the left corner and continue a short walk up to Yak Kharka, a small settlement set at (4110m). We will have a gradual ascent towards a little hill and the way goes more right behind the hill and reaches Yak Kharka for the overnight. Reminder time may hike up to the little hill for the good give of surrounding mountain. (Overnight at tea house on full board basis)

Day 11: Yak Kharka to Thorong Phedi (4925m) 5-6 hrs.
Another short day with high above makes your way to the foot of the pass, Thorong Phedi for the lunch stop. A small place although busy settlement catering to the needs of trekkers and climbers. It is situated at the bottom of the Thorong-La and the trails continually step up to Thorong-la afterward. After lunch here we trek hours to get a high camp (4800m) for the overnight. (Overnight at tea house full board basis)

Day 12: Thorong Phedi to Thorong Peak Base Camp (5200m) 3-4 hrs.
Trek Thorong peak Phedi to Thorong peak base camp takes 3-4 hours. When you reached Thorong peak base camp then you have time to rest and be preparing to climb for the next day. (Overnight at tented camp on full board basis)

Day 13: Summit to Thorong peak (6100m) and trek down to Muktinath (3810m) 9-10 hrs.
Trek with high windy climb eases, we begin to ascend Thorong pass (5416 m). A better view of Kali Gandaki in a U-shaped valley. Ahead we can see Dhaulagiri I, II, and III. Now, we trek on a gentle slope with a cliff through sacred land to Muktinath. We visit Buddhist and Hindu temples combine in the same spot. (Overnight at tea house on full board basis)

Day 14: Reserve the day for unforeseen conditions.
This day we most kept for the reserve day for the unforeseen condition as weather problems or weaknesses then you can take this day as your reserve day. (Overnight at tented camp on full board basis)

Day 15: Trek from Muktinath to Jomsom (2500m) 5-6 hrs.
Today, we wake up early to the marvelous sounds of temple bells and visit the famous pilgrimage center to the Muktinath Temple area. After breakfast, it is an easy trek down to Kagbeni. The trail descends through a dramatic, arid landscape to Kagbeni. To reach Kagbeni one must travel on either side of the Kaligandaki River. The left fork continues up the river to Kagbeni. Perhaps your lunch spot will be at Kagbeni. After a few hours of walking from Kagbeni, we reach Jomsom, a large town and the headquarters of the Mustang region. It has an airstrip just above the Kaligandaki River and is also a major village in the Kaligandaki area linking the age-old Trans-Himalayan Salt Trade route to Tibet. Day 16: Flight from Jomsom to Pokhara (8 20m) 20 min.
This morning we pack our bags and get ready for the exciting mountain scenic flight to Pokhara. The flight transit between two high peaks Mt. Annapurna (8091m and Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m and allows us to enjoy with best views of the surrounding Annapurna & Dhaulagiri Himalayan range. We have a full day at Pokhara to enjoy its nature. Our guide will take you sightseeing in Pokhara valley and visit the highlights of Pokhara and the surrounding areas. The place to visit pilgrimage sites of Hindu temple Bindabashini, one most important and popular Hindu temples in Pokhara. Two-hour boating in Phewa Lake and visit the Barahi temple which is one on the island in Phewa Lake and other popular places David fall (Waterfall), Ghupteshower cave, etc. (Overnight at deluxe hotel on BB basis)

Day 17: Pokhara to Kathmandu fly 25 min. / drive 6-7 hrs.
You could choose an afternoon flight to Kathmandu, till some hours before the flight; you may take an optional sightseeing tour around Pokhara or enjoy adventure activities such as boat riding, paragliding, etc. While returning to Kathmandu from Pokhara, be sure to catch the left side of the airplane for the best views of the Himalayas. Or if you would like to choose by bus, we will arrange a ticket in the tourist coach at river side seat and start your journey at 7:30 am from Pokhara. Left sites seats of vehicles are nice to enjoy the scenery; the road follows by Trisuli River where you see many people rafting on the river. After 6/7 hours you will arrive at Kathmandu (beside Thamel) and transfer to your hotel. The day at leisure to rest, perhaps catch up on some last-minute shopping or explore any sights you missed during your first day in Kathmandu. ! Remember, we will be hosting a fantastic celebration "Farewell dinner" at a traditional Nepalese restaurant together with Mountain Guide Trek staffs for successful completion of Thorong Peak Climbing! Day 18: Farewell Friend (Final departure to your onward destination).
Today is the last day in Nepal for this trip; you are saying goodbye to the mountains as the journey in Nepal, comes to an end today, There is nothing to do but trade emails with travel companions and organize the photos. If you have more time you can do some shopping or sightseeing. Approximately 3 hours before the scheduled flight a representative from Mountain Guide Treks will take you to the airport.
